Batch New Southern Kitchen & Tap: Delray Beach

Batch New Southern Kitchen & Tap: Delray Beach Restaurant

Overview

Walking into Batch New Southern Kitchen & Tap: Delray Beach feels like stepping into a place that understands comfort food but refuses to keep it boring. I stopped by the location at 14813 Lyons Rd, Delray Beach, FL 33446, United States on a busy weekend afternoon, and the first thing that stood out was the energy. Families, couples, and solo diners were all digging into plates that looked familiar yet elevated, the kind of food that makes you lean back and say this hits the spot.

The menu leans heavily into Southern classics, but everything is handled with intention. Fried chicken arrives crisp without being greasy, and the meat stays juicy all the way to the bone. Shrimp and grits come out creamy with a depth of flavor that tells you the kitchen understands layering-slow-simmered stock, properly rendered bacon, and seasoning that doesn’t overpower the dish. I asked our server about their process, and she explained how many items are prepped daily rather than pulled from a freezer. That tracks with what food researchers from the USDA often point out: freshness and proper handling play a huge role in flavor and food safety, especially with proteins.

What really impressed me was the balance between indulgence and quality control. According to data shared by the National Restaurant Association, diners today care just as much about ingredient sourcing as taste. You can see that awareness here in the way sides are treated. Mac and cheese is baked, not scooped, with a browned top that adds texture. Collard greens are slow-cooked, not mushy, with enough acidity to keep them bright. These aren’t afterthoughts; they’re part of the experience.

The tap list deserves its own moment. Craft beer fans will appreciate the rotating selection that mixes local Florida brews with well-known regional names. One bartender mentioned they adjust taps based on customer reviews and seasonal demand, which is a smart move. It’s a real-world example of how feedback loops work in hospitality-listen, adjust, improve. Studies from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration have shown that restaurants actively responding to guest input often see higher repeat visits, and that feels accurate here.

Service plays a big role in why this spot works. Even with a full dining room, orders came out consistently and accurately. I noticed managers checking tables, asking for honest thoughts, and actually listening. That level of attention builds trust. Online reviews often highlight this same point, mentioning friendly staff and reliable experiences across multiple visits. Of course, no place is perfect. On peak nights, wait times can stretch longer than expected, and parking around the shopping center can get tight. Still, those are manageable trade-offs for a place that delivers consistently.

From a broader food culture perspective, this restaurant fits into the growing trend of modern Southern dining-respecting tradition while refining execution. Culinary experts like Sean Brock have spoken about preserving Southern flavors without relying on shortcuts, and that philosophy seems reflected here, even in a casual diner-style setting. The food feels rooted, not gimmicky.

For anyone exploring Delray Beach locations with personality, this spot stands out because it knows exactly what it is. It’s not chasing trends for the sake of it. Instead, it focuses on solid cooking, a welcoming atmosphere, and a menu that encourages sharing and conversation. Whether you’re stopping in for brunch, a casual dinner, or a beer with friends, the experience feels intentional, approachable, and genuinely satisfying.

There are some great deals to be had here for happy hour drinks and food. We have been twice and the food has been very good each time but service was mixed. Nashville Chicken sandwich was very tasty, they used chicken thigh which is always good to see, it was crispy juicy and a little spicy plus they offer a hotter version if you’d like. Fries are also very good, fluffy inside and a nice crisp on the outside. Brunch items were good, we loved the Brisket hash. Sliders are good also but wish you could select a variety instead of being forced to get the same One of our favorite items is the hash brown balls, they were delicious! Crispy outside, creamy inside and the flavor is fantastic. I would highly recommend giving them a try.

Brunch was incredible! The chicken and waffles were hands down the best I’ve had. So crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with the sweetness. The rest of the food was just as delicious, and the drinks tied it all together. $22 for bottomless mimosa, all the flavors were so good, as well as the spiked cold brew!! Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to!

I went to have brunch this morning, and everything was amazing! My server was sweet and attentive, and had good menu recommendations. I went with their pulled pork eggs Benedict; it was so good I couldn’t stop eating it. There was great flavor, and it was cooked to perfection, especially the crispy potatoes. Their GM also stopped by our table, and she was super friendly! I can’t wait to come back soon.

I cannot say enough positive things about this place! From the atmosphere, to the service, to the food, it’s 10/10 every time! We’ve sat at the bar a few times for dinner and it is always great. The bartenders are friendly, attentive, and the food is always good (highly recommend the short rib). I planned a reservation for a large group for my birthday and unfortunately had to cancel it last minute. I rebooked a few weeks later and brought my family who was visiting from out of town for brunch. They were amazed at how good everything was! Our server Felipe was fantastic and the GM Jennifer came to our table a few times and was so friendly and welcoming. They even remembered my birthday and gave me a dessert with a candle and a birthday present with some goodies to take home! The menu is unique which is a nice change and every single thing we have tried has been amazing but what sealed the deal for me is the staff here in Delray. We will definitely be back

We had a great time at Batch! Our server, Marissa, was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent suggestions. The manager even stopped by during our visit to check in on us, which added a personal touch. The hospitality was phenomenal! The food was absolutely amazing — the waffles practically melted in our mouths, and the crispy bacon potatoes were incredibly savory. Everything is made in-house using their original recipes, which truly impressed us. The space was very clean, and the aesthetics — including the dishes — were beautifully curated and visually appealing. We will definitely be back. Can’t wait for game nights! Thank you for the warm welcome!

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel right at home—friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. They went out of their way to accommodate my family, and it made all the difference. The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions and flavors that held up beautifully as leftovers the next day. The ambiance was warm, inviting, and perfect for a memorable night out. Shoutout to Jordan who was just so amazing! We can’t wait to come back—this place is a new favorite!

Love the service, food and location! The service here is always great and our group was seated promptly after arriving. Really enjoyed the burger and side salad (although the size of the salad was rather small). The smoked short rib was also fantastic and just came apart very easily. Excellent drinks here too!
